Sweet transportfiets

I love this style of bike. Unfortunatly the front rack is attached to the steering so it becomes a bit troublesome if you overload it. And I, for one, like to overload things. But they just look so cool. I wonder if the car is from the same owner?
Also check out: http://www.transportfiets.net/ It's in Dutch so good luck, but there are tons of nice pictures.

school bus, Dutch style

How's that for kid hauling? There was about 15 total, as I don't think the second bus was full up front. The kid on the trail a bike does not look comfortable. I like how the headlights are flush mounted, but bet changing bulbs is a pain.

Den Haag Central Station

Bonus! Two for one today. This video is taken in front of Den Haag Central Station. There is also underground bike parking which I have yet to investigate.

EDIT- Wow, I just watched this online and the video quality is quite poor, unlike how the actual video plays. Guess I need to get a you tube account and post a link instead?

Zebra Stripes

Personalizing your bike really helps it stand out in a crowd. It's good to catch them when they are flying solo so you can get a better pic. Is that lock around the seat just meant to hold the bag on? It's one of the few bikes not sporting a (usually horse shoe shaped) wheel lock. Most of mine being the others. Unless it's hidden under the bag, but I don't think so.

On the canal

This is a Kronan bike from Sweden parked on a canal in Delft. Nice front rack bolted to the frame, which is quite popular here. Keeps the load separated from the steering so the bike is much more manuverable. You'll see hipsters mounting these to old racing bikes. Not a good idea as you risk crushing the head tube with the force necessary to keep the rack from moving. Old Schwinn's, Raleigh's, etc., no problem.

Smart Routing

What a concept. The fietspad (bike lane/path) is routed behind the gas station to eliminate auto/bike conflicts. Brilliant. That's 137.5 Euro cents per liter, or $7.47 per gallon. Now we're talking. Oh how I would love to see that in the US. Use the extra $$ initially to pay for all the new fietspads!
